I stay in Bangalore and recently bought a reliance WiMax connection. I have taken the 999 unlimited 400 kbps plan. There are still a lot of problems with WiMax and you feel that they are using you as a guinea pig for testing their products. If you are a professional or a serious online geek, then don’t ever buy Reliance WiMax.

The connection goes off unpredictably and at times it becomes very slow. Even getting the IP Address from their DHCP server is very problematic. Once something goes wrong, there is no way of getting things right in a short time. Calling their customer service is pretty useless. The person on the other end takes down your problem and says they will come back to you in one hour or 24 hours!! By the time they come back you would have been frustrated and lost lot of your precious hours. The problem does get right after some time but you wont have the connection when you need it the most.

The help desk is like the police in the Hindi Movies. They come back after everything is over!!

I have used Airtel before and it is any day better than Reliance WiMax. I am forced to take Reliance as Airtel does not provide service in my area :(
