I was using Reliance Netconnect+ datacard/dongle since 2011. The speed and Price was Ok compared to the technology available then. But in 2016 Reliance Communications(Anil Ambani's) switched to 4G abruptly and made it mandatory to all existing customers to buy 4G/LTE Wipod device which was very expensive. This was done in a hurry by the company just before the Reliance Jio(Mukesh Ambani's) was launched so that it can exploit the existing customers to the maximum extent before market changes.
Below are the reasons why you should never go for Reliance Communications 4G Wipod:
1) Very very Expensive data plans:
In this time of cheap and affordable internet data where Jio and Airtel are offering 4G data at jaw dropping cheap prices(Jio's free data plan, Airtel's 1GB 4G data per day for 90 days validity(i.e. total 90 GB!) plus outgoing local/STD mobile/landline calls free for just Rs.390!),
Reliance Communications 4G Wipod data plans offer 1GB data for Rs.250. Can you believe this!? This is horrible daylight loot from the company. I am sure if the prices doesn't come down, they have to shutdown their shop soon.
2) Very very Pathetic customer service:
Reliance Communications customer care number is the worst ever service I have seen. It is almost next to impossible to reach a customer service executive, they will either keep you on waiting endlessly or not available. Even if you are lucky enough to talk to an executive, they are so untrained, un-knowledgeable and unprofessional they don't have any answers to your issues. They just say some excuses and your problems will never be solved. The background is so noisy it feels like they have set up customer care in the middle of a fish market.
