I am attempting to write about Reliance Industries Limited from a layman's point of view.RIL does not really make products for the layman.It has made impressive forays into petrochemicals,oil and gas,infotech and telecom as also finance and power.I view Reliance as a winner.Lets face it-industrialists are hospitalized.But when Dhirajlal Hirachand Ambani was admitted to Breach Candy hospital,the who's who of the entire indian firmament called on him.Here was a man who dropped out of school.Here was a man who started business with Rs 15,000.And here is a man who has the world at his feet.He made petrochemicals manufacture possible when everyone scoffed at him.He produced oil and gas in the private sector.And he did it with thumping success.He issued shares as a private sector firm when it was unheard of.And here too,he kept his shareholders successful.And all this he achieved by ''MANAGING THE ENVIRONMENT''.The marketplace is a jungle and to win you have to do just that-WIN.There is no alternative.
I salute Dhirajlal Hirachand Ambani.May your tribe increase manifold.
