On the first day of renewal of insurance policy for one year old CNG Ertiga, it met with a small accident. I carried it to an approved garage, filled claim and awaited for approvals. Three days later, I was suprised to hear from the garage that the claim had been rejected and I could take back the car. Neither the company nor the surveyor contacted me. When I requested the surveyor to give me written reason for rejected, I was rudely informed to take back the claim.
It was only when I approached the grievance officer that I was informed that the rejection was because supposedly the damage was "Pre-Existing", a term under which any claim could be rejected. Please note the vehicle is one year old, policy was renewed with Reliance online and no inspection took place. We regret having taken this policy over that of Public Sector companies because of a small discount. I am planning to shift to another company under Portability provisions.
Be mindful you are dealing with people out to reject even a small genuine claim, and to put you to harassment.
