I subscribed to Reader's Digest in June last year falling prey to their frequent mailers. For nearly two months, there was no response. After my numerous emails, they responded by saying that they have not received the payment (though my cheque had already been cleared).
Surprisingly, next month I got the magazine for the first time. There was not a word about the number of free gifts they had promised.
After the first issue, again there was a break for nearly two months. Next month, I got another issue of the magazine. When I looked at it carefully, I discovered that my address had mysteriously changed from Indore to Jabalpur (the magazine still reached me somehow - maybe on the basis of pin code).
After this, there has been sign of the magazine. So for Rs. 547/- paid by me, I have only two issues.
I am told by my friends that they cheat their customers in this manner and lot of people have got duped similarly.
My request therefore to all is - BEWARE OF READER'S DIGEST - and never subscribe to it unless you want to lose your hard earned money.
