Why should we watch this movie:-

Rang de Basanti-A film of India by an Indian and for a Indian and this is probably how we define our democracy...This is the first and I feel the foremost
reason for why every INDIAN should watch this movie
.
Secondly Aamir Khan  and the commendable performance by the whole cast( Yes dont forget that "Vande Matram" guy) makes the film worth watching. These two are the high points of the movie.Director has done the brilliant job by comapring the India when the India was down under the English Govt. and now when we India is not down under but defilnetly tied in the cruel hands of corruption, bad politics and selfishness. we can draw from the movie that India has not changed.Hats off to you Rakesh. You have done it in style.

Cast & Plot:

Aamir khan...Brilliant as he used to be in other films. He has done hillarious as well as emotional scenes with equal ease. He connects superbly with todays college going guys.
but it’s not Aamir alone that you applaud in the film. Of course, Aamir gets into the skin of the character and delivers a knockout performance from start to end, but the film has more gems when it comes to performances: Siddharth [excellent], Atul Kulkarni [fantastic], Soha Ali Khan [a complete revelation; efficient], Kunal Kapoor [natural] and Sharman Joshi [powerful].Alice Patten is brilliant and besides delivering a flawless performance, her style of speaking Hindi is sure to win a lot of hearts. Madhavan is likeable. Waheeda Rehman is graceful as ever. Both Om Puri and Anupam Kher don’t get much scope. Kiron Kher is exceptional yet again. But ultimately, despite sharing the screen space with others, this is an Aamir Khan film. And the actor, playing a character 15 years younger, lives the role, conveying the right amount of mischief (as in the banter in Hindi with Sue without realizing she knows the language), carefree flippancy, earnestness, insecurity, even breaking down on screen, and keeping his infectious laughter till the very end.

Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s movie ‘Rang De Basanti’ is a must-watch for reasons that the length of this review may not suffice to express. More than just a technically brilliant flick, ‘Rang De Basanti’ has a story that entertains you, makes you think and stirs you deep inside in the end.
