Another movie by Mahesh Manjrekar...
Rakht is a story of Drishti
(Bipasha Basu), a tarot card reader, who is gifted with a vision to see things that are going to happen.
She is widowed at an early age. She even predicted her husbands death but couldnt inform him in time. She is also a mother to an 8 year old boy.
Sunil Shetty plays Mohit, a crazy mechanic who is a good friend of Drishti and has a soft corner for her.
Rahul
(Sanjay Dutt) is a school principal, where Drishtis son studies and is engaged to be married to Natasha (Amrita Arora) who is a mayors daughter and a big flirt! Rahul too has some liking towards Drishti.
Dino Morea (Sunny) plays the central male character and the mystery revolves around him. He shares a rough relation with his wife Ria (Neha Dhupia). He keeps beating his wife for reasons i couldnt understand or should i say- unknown? He is also having a number of affairs. She takes Drishtis help in this matter and even though Drishti advises her that her relationship with Sunny cannot work and that she has to leave Sunny, she is unable to do so thinking that Sunny will kill her.
The story further moves on showing how Sunny keeps disturbing the mental peace of Drishti for giving wrong ideas to his wife Ria.
Later on, Natasha goes missing. Her deadbody is found in the premises of Sunny and there is also an eye witness who saw Sunny beating Natasha and taking her away somewhere.
The rest of the story shows investigations on the killer of Natasha. Who can it be? is it sunny? Will Drishtis magical powers be able to find them the real killer?
The movie is neat. Somewhat different from other hindi movies.
Bipasha has got a good role this time but shes put on weight by now and her hairstlye makes her look yucks!
Sanjay Dutt has done his part well as always. Hes been caught into a confusing story this time.
Dino morea isnt that good and is more irritating than horrible! His voice has also been dubbed by someone else which will not make you feel like looking at him at all!
Amrita Arora is as bad as always! She should quit movies and should better go in the pathway of her sister.
Abishek Bacchan has got a nice little role but that too by the end. Infact the song we wait for wasnt shown at all! For sure its like- Kya maine socha, aur kya hua?
The movie seems to be a blunder and I would rate it as a movie to be watched if you do not have anything worthwile to do!
