Ever since I read about this place on Face Book's Pune Eats Out page, I was dying to visit it. Finally we set out in search of the place and reached it very easily with the help of Google Maps.
It is a small place and there was no one else there when we went in.
Starightaway, we ordered the famous Red Peru ice cream. It was the first time I had an ice cram with chili powder on it. It tastes of guava and the masala that they put on this fruit when you buy it on the road side. We also had a Mini Cocktail which is like an ice cream sundae.
This outlet is a branch of the original Kolhapuri Rajmandir ice creams and now has a branch in Baner also.
Talking to the pretty young lady at the counter we learned that this is a start-up conceived of by her mother. We were given samples of two or three other flavours such as paan masala which tasted very authentic.
There are milkshake forms of most flavours and the outlet services large parties and functions. While the ice creams are not rich and creamy, there are also'sugar-free' versions of most of the items.
The other specialities are the multi-flavoured or classic Shrikhand and Basundi and the ice cream "Cocktail", with lots of toppings.
