My first impressions of the unit D5151were amazing. The unit look stock, well built, and of good quality. The head unit came in a nice big box, no damage at all. It was packaged very nicely and got here extremely fast. The instruction book that came with it was for a different unit but it still was useful for the interface. I took out the existing stock head unit and screwed in the brackets supplied to the new head unit. There were no instructions on that but it was pretty easy to figure out. I left the ignition on and the miles remaining function on the trip computer and then swapped the head units.
Once I plugged the Eonon 5151 unit in, the miles remaining stayed there. The harness made it such an easy install, took about 30 minutes. The only reason why it took so long was because of tucking the wires in the back to make it fit in. I was surprised to see that the middle LCD part was not blank, instead it read “NAVI SYSTEM”. No more covering it up with a sticker. The auto climate controls still work and they still go from 60 degrees to 90 degrees. The ambient temperature still also works.
The fitment of the whole unit is extremely nice. There is a straight line across the dash, no sag. The sides might have a little bigger gap than stock, but nothing I can notice. The bottom of the unit has a little bit of a gap, you can notice it, but it really does not bother me.
The new interface is a thousand times better than the old. I did not have the old unit, however, I watched many videos and read a lot about it. The time is very easy to see and set. The swiping is smooth and the pressing is precise.
