I finally got a chance to watch RACE yesterday..Here’s my pt..

This

is the most star-studded & stylish movie by director duo Abbas Mustan to come out in 2008. Star cast includes Anil Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Bipasha Basu, Akshaye Khanna, Katrina Kaif, Bipasha Basu & Sameera Reddy.

Race is about 2 brothers played by elder brother Ranvir Singh (Saif Ali Khan) and younger one Rajeev Singh (Akshay Khanna)who own a huge stud farm in Cape Town & are the biggest bookies in the sport of horse racing. Katrina Kaif is Saif’s  personal secretary who loves him. Bipasha Basu plays the role of an upcoming Indian ramp model in Cape Town. Although she loves Khan, a twist gets her married to his younger brother, Khanna.

Akshaye hates his elder brother (Saif ) but the Saif is affectionate of Akshaye. Things were not meant to be this simple, Bipasha and Saif gets closer and Akshays senses this. Then there is a murder in the story. A series of events change the lives of these 3 characters, resulting in a death and what follows is a murder mystery. Anil Kapoor as Robert. D. Costa (R.D) enters the scene, Sameera Reddy (Mini, reminds of Karamchand’s Kitty) is the dumb personal assistant, both of whom step in to solve the case.

I will say that this movie has a lot of material to get you hooked to your seats. You can’t expect what is going next. RACE has been shot in beautifuls location of Durban & Cape Town.

Saif Ali Khan as the elder bro has done a good job, has some grey shades which reminded me of Ek Hasina Thi. Akshaye Khanna is one of the most under-rated actors (chk Gandhi my father) has done full justice to his role. Good as always. Anil Kapoor, he came up in the scene and tried to create humour by his funny dialogues, has shown his tremendous flexibility with Welcome, Black & white & now Race. He in short was a chali firti fruit ki dukaan.

Now coming to the b’ful babes..

Sameera Reddy playing the dumb but sexy girl was fine. Did nicely. On the other hand Bipasha as she’s getting older she is getting more gorgeous and expert in acting. Katrina scores full pts on looks but had the least dialouges.

Movie is filled up with stunts, can be said as DESI  version of 007 with action, babes & vrrooomin cars all around..  Music’s good & dont generally break the tempo but act as a refresher/breather.. Songs are picturised & choreography very well.. But its the action which is really good, spl the climax race...

Overall, a very good entertainer from director duo who have made a tremendous comeback.. Its already a BLOCKBUSTER. RECOMMENDED !!

MY RATING: 4/5

Cheers !!
Gurpreet.
