Indeed a gr8 opportunity to develop someone by helping and getting more intimacy with relatives & friends with clear concept to work further. Don't feel to get money without work. One can earn by learning attitude & desire to work.
Indeed very old concept adopted by our ancestors to make a chain, contacts, encashment of relations & mouth recommendations for getting marriage of their son or daughters. Today we are also doing the same but by heart we are not accepting because we don't have confidence on our-self only.
