I would like to share my share experience about residential schools in Chennai. When we decided to admit our second son in residential school, we visited many schools in Chennai and decided to go for RMK for its great neat infrastructure and the nice food they served.
My son used to score A plus grade in CBSE stream when he was a days scholar up to IV std in top school in Anna Nagar. First year in residential school we had no regrets as the school had appointed a good principal from top school in Chennai. Later in the middle of that year due to inside management related issues the principal resigned. From that point we saw degrading performance in our sons scores.
We never expected 40 and below (fail marks) from our son and were really shocked to see our sons poor performance in education. We requested the school to look into this and help us in motivating our son in education. Being residential though we didn't expect 95 and above marks from our son but at least decent 75 plus marks to ensure he understands the basic concepts in education.
Even after multiple remainder school never focused on appointing quality teachers. Even after paying huge fees every year when we saw no value for the money (around 3 lakhs) we decided to pull out our son from that school. Now we feel relaxed about our sons education as we see improvement in his education.
So parents please do not think of RMK if you want your child to get good education and do not waste your money. Having good infrastructure and serving nice food does not mean good education.
