Like his previous attempts, Indra Kumar, once again spins a tale that defies logic, but is funny, hilarious, full of great lines and comically absurd situations.
Pyare (Fardeen Khan) is blind,
while Mohan (Vivek Oberoi) is deaf and the two are always in each others pocket. The duo worked together as stuntmen in a film company but unfortunately met with a terrible accident and Pyare lost his vision, while Mohan became deaf.
But they fought against all odds to be survivors. And though their life was nothing short for a ‘happily-ever-after’ story, the only thing that took away their smile was true love.
But the yearning is not too long lasting, for one fine morning they bump into two sisters, Preeti (Esha Deol) and Priya (Amrita Rao). And the very next minute Pyare and Mohan enter the dream world with Preeti and Priya, where life is framed within a rosy frame.
With the eagerness to realize their dreams, Pyare and Mohan speak out their hearts, only to realise that their disability goes against them and the girls never thought beyond friendship.
The heartbroken duo accepts reality and the girls leave for Bangkok for a live stage show.
The script of Pyare Mohan is punctuated by a number of illogical sequences and while the story relies on THIN PLOT, the deft and snappy execution makes you overlook the flaws.Director Indra Kumar has yet again relied too heavily on gags and punches to move the story ahead, with the result that the proceedings tend to get amateurish at times but where he scores – not letting the viewer use their brains or blink an eyelid!
Anu Maliiks music is a plus point. The tracks are hummable and come easy on the lips. The choreography of Har Mohan ki koi stands out and deserves special mention.
Cinematography is up to the mark. The lavish expenses and the striking locales of Bangkok have been captured with elan on celluloid. However, one wishes the editing was crisper, mainly towards the second half.
The drama gets a little more amusing thanks to the great chemistry between two actors. Fardeen is superb . This is amongst his finest performances.
Viviek looks ill at ease in light scenes. Also, he looks pale at places. Amrita looks gorgeous and delivers a freewheeling performance.
Esha excels. Boman has a negative role, which he handles well..
Well ,worth a watch!
