My dream came in reality when I got admission in Pune Institute of Computer Technology (PICT); one of the best engineering colleges in Maharashtra. I took admission tp PICT in 2001. I got admission in Computer Engineering Branch. Pune Institute of Computer Technology started in 1983. The college is affiliated to University of Pune. Although there are many colleges and institutes teaching Computer science courses Pune Institute of Computer Technology(PICT) tops them all as evidenced by its alumni which has spread all over the world and which is very active in the area of Computer technology.


Location:

Pune Institute of Computer Technology(PICT) is located in pune. Pune is the education capital of India and has the country’s largest and the most diverse student population. The college is  in area called Dhankawadi. The college very near to Bharati Vidyapeeth.


Academic Programs:

Pune Institute of Computer Technology(PICT) offers Bachelor of Engineering and Master of Engineering degrees of the University of Pune.
Pune Institute of Computer Technology(PICT) offering following Bachelor of Engineering cources:
1. Computer Engineering.
2. Electronics and Telecommunications
3. Information Technology.
For cuople of years, college had brach called Instrumentration engineering. Pune Institute of Computer Technology(PICT) offering following Master of Engineering cources:
1. M.E.(Comp)
2. M.E.(E&TC)


Admission:

I am not aware of the current admission provess. But, the time when I took admission in Pune Institute of Computer Technology(PICT); it was on the basis of marks of PCM (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) Group. There was 50% fres seats anf 50% payment seats.
Administration:
During my college years, Potdar Sir was head of the collge. Pune Institute of Computer Technology(PICT) is having very good staff. The staff is kind and helping students to understand subjects in better way.


Facilities:

Following facilities are provided at Pune Institute of Computer Technology(PICT).
1. Well equipped class-rooms
2. Digital Library - Pune Institute of Computer Technology(PICT) has the first digital library which has started in any colleges in Pune.
3. Good laboratories & workshops - Very good laboratories & workshops with good resource are provided in PICT.
4. Campus-wide LAN - College has 3 lines. One of which is for girls and boys hostel.
5. Canteen - College is having a canteen, but the food is not that much good. The fees for canteen is taken in advance for a year for the students who have taken hostel accomodation.
6. Conference Rooms - College is having two conference rooms. The one is at main building and the second one which is build just couple of years ago is in PGDBM building. The new conference room is very good.
7. Hostels for Ladies & Men - This college’s hostel is costliest in Pune. It’s annual changes are around 50000 rupees which includes accomodation, mess and internet service charges. The rooms are of two types; 2 bed and 3 bed.
8. Students Chapters of IEEE - Pune Institute of Computer Technology(PICT) has the Students Chapters of IEEE in India. According to me, this is the best part of the college.


Extracurricular Programs:

1. Inpetus & Concepts - This is national level project exibition event. Inpetus is for college college. From this, shortlisted projects are kept for Concepts to represent college.
2. For soprts, one basketball court is available where we played are the games. Every year we had inter-class crickets matches. My group was always there in  every sport event.
3. Gymnasium - College is having modern gymnasium.
4. College as always performed best in Firodiya Karandak and won prizes.
In short, Pune Institute of Computer Technology(PICT) is best college to study and I have spent
best time of my life there.
