The book on java named "Programming With Java: A Primer" by E. Balagurusamy is one of the best books for any person to start up learning java freshly who do not have much programming background. The way in which the contents are arranged and represented in the book are quite impressive. The language used is very simple and could be easily understood by new students in this field. A lot of examples illustrated in the book helps in more better and clear understanding of the topics. I myself found this book quite helpful while making my college project and finishing it with simplicity. In my opinion this is a great book for understanding java basics for beginners.
