If you like Kashmiri food then you will like everything about Poush (meaning ‘flower’). Food is the USP of this place. Those who know what Kashmiri food is all about will get the real Roganjosh
(red mutton gravy), Goshtaba (spongy meat balls cooked in a curd based gravy), Ruwangan Kokur(Chicken pieces pan fried and cooked in a tomato and onion gravy), Dum Aloo(boiled potatoes deep fried and cooked in a red hot gravy on slow fire), Tsok Wangun(brinjal pieces deep fried and cooked in a tamarind based gravy) and of course the Rajmawhich is to die for. To wash it down is the sweet dish Phirniand Qahwa(Kashmiri green herbal tea).

The food is best enjoyed with Rice but if you are a Rotifreak there is a wide variety of rotis, naans on offer. Try the flavoured Hukka which comes in green apple, strawberry, coffee and many more flavours as you wait for the food to arrive.

The second best thing about Poush is that there are Shikaras (wooden boats in which you can sit and have food) placed all over and that itself is a first time in Mumbai. You can sprawl over comfy gaddas with cushions for support as Kashmiri songs filter through the curtains blowing with the breeze.

As we tried the food it was lip smackingly delicious. The spices come from Kashmir revealed the Kashmiri chef giving the food its distinct original flavour. The portions are good and the service too is commendable.

There are the normal table and chair seating arrangement outside and in the AC section too but the best are the Shikaras which you need to book in advance. Book your Shikara on the phone but if you just walk in any other time when the restaurant is packed the wait is worth it all.
