Intellect Design Arena/Polaris Consultancy is not a good company for freshers from IIT/NIT/IIIT to start their career.
Reasons:
Working on outdated technology(JAVA & Struts Framework) and most products are ready. So there is too little to learn. Most you would do is change a few line of codes(and yet find yourself occupied by other work like endless excels and data entry).
No management. For any issue you will be foot balled between HRs and reporting managers. Worse they even lie to their employees. Few of the freshers were lied about their actual office and later had to commute up-to 4 hours daily for reaching offices.
Reporting Managers are often up-to 20 years experienced but yet lack vision and charisma to motivate freshers. They rather indulge in petty office politics.
Company offers less compensation than market standards.
There is no actual policy of appraisal and appraisal letters for even experienced working professionals are delayed by about 6-7 months. Freshers will have to wait for 15 months(in actual more) for first increment(might be a meager 8% for few).
Most teams in company promote mediocrity and don't focus on innovation.
No Commute facilities provided by company even after frequent requests.
Few Pros.:
- Professionals at 2-3 levels above entry level are good and a lot can be learnt from them. But generally they are preoccupied by their own work.
2.There is too little work at-least at entry level. Because of this reason all pursuant of exams like CAT, IAS, etc can easily prepare side by side and earn easy money as well.
