Fortunately it dint take me too long to decide on Planet Kids, Vijayanagar branch as the starting school for my 2+ year old twins. Couple of my neighbors and a good friend of mine had admitted their children here for pre nursery last year, and all had nice things to say about the management and faculty.
This school is barely a skip, jump and hop away from home. a plus point for us. My wife and I went to check out the facility and were satisfied with the classrooms and pretty impressed with the play area. I loved the way some of the things that the kids had made, were arranged in the classrooms. I immediately took a liking to the school, and more or less decided to go ahead with the admission, provided the fees would not pinch my pocket so much, especially as I have to cough up twice the amount; since God Almighty decided to bless us with these lovely twins. a boy n a girl!
Yes, the fees did make a dent in my pocket, but I was feeling a bit generous that day and went ahead and sealed the deal. We were called for a one day Parent Orientation program and were given some very useful tips and advice. A couple of weeks earlier before the school started, I used to take my kids for a ride in front of Planet Kids, and brainwash them into looking forward to going to school and meeting with other kids and get to sing and dance with them.
Finally, the day arrived! My wife and I took our kids to their First Day in School. Met with a few other anxious parents there. We were allowed to stay with our kids for the first two days, and all of us had loads lot of fun. My kids enjoyed it, and were looking forward to attending school. But little did they know, that from the 3rd day, their parents would not be accompanying them to their class, it would be just them and their teacher for the entire 2.5 hrs. As expected, all the kids were crying for their mommy and daddy once we left them at the school gate.
I expected my daughter would get used to the school scenario sooner, and my son would take atleast 6 months to come to terms with what's going on with him. To my utter surprise, my son started looking forward to going to school within 10 days, and my daughter followed suit after a few days.
Today, its been almost 3 months Kunal and Kushi have been going to Nursery class at Planet Kids Vijayanagar. They simply love the school and talk very fondly about their teacher Ms Sangeetha. The school have taken them to the nearby park to show them plants and insects, have had two rounds of swimming in their tiny pool, recently had a carnival show along with parents.
I found the management and faculty very professional, approachable and most importantly very kind and understanding. I would definitely refer this school to anyone who asks me for my opinion. My only wish though, is that they should be a bit more flexible with the fees for parents of twins:)
