Worth a visit... Review on Phuket

Talk about clean beaches, almost white sand, crystal clear water, lonnnnnnng extension of thinly populated beaches- One thing that shall come to your mind, if you have already visited this place, would be the beaches of Phuket. The Bangtao Lagoon beach was the only one I got to visit coz we were shooting there for a few days. I believe this was the beach on which Leonardo Di Caprio`s movie, ''The Beach'' was shot. The water is just beautiful. You can scuba-dive here or go on a jet-ski. The regular massage ladies would be all around. Try the feet massage or the dry body massage on the beach. But, beware.. check out who the massage person is.. a male or a female or a ... Yes, one might be quite surprised upon knowing that the gorgeous lady next to you is a eunuch. Our cottage boys strictly warned us on this before we left out on the first day.

Phuket, just like Bangkok, is a shopping paradise. You`ll find these road side shops where you get the most amazing stuff (Big-time boutiques of Mumbai store such stuff). Right from shoes to T-shirts, shirts, caps, belts, watches and other accessories you`ll find everything on the street side shops, not to mention that they are very reasonably priced. You gotta be good at bargaining here. You might feel you are very good at it but here it`s a different story- the language problem. Most of the local shop keepers won`t understand English and the entire bargaining process is done on, guess what, a Calculator. The shop-keeper types on the calculator, the initial amount, you then type the amount you`d like, & this goes on... Try the free market, it has lotsa stuff at very reasonable prices.

The night life is absolutely cool n happening. I believe there`s only one disc in Phuket, named, ''Shark Club''. Truly, it`s the most happening place of the town. The streets around are all lit up at night- you can see bars n barbeques, loads of garment shops, massage parlors, live shows of all kinds, wierd n crazy bikes` shops etc. If you are a sea-food freak, you can`t miss the stuff out here.

Phuket, is surely worth a visit, be it for it`s beautiful scenics, culture, night-life, or shopping.
