I got DVD 727K in mid of 2004 and am very much satisfied with its features. It plays VCD, MP3, JPEG, MPEG, DVD, Audio CD format CD's. It also has 5.1 Channel output which can be used by quality speaker system to get a true Home Theatre effects. However, you need to have an appropriate DVD Movie which can produce 5.1 channel output.
Well, thats not the end of story. Human wants are unlimited and I feel sad that the new model of Philips DVD Player supports other File Formats like DivX. I don't know how I can upgrade my model to play all latest model. I am getting crazy about other file formats which includes - WMV, DivX, AVI etc.
I hope that a day will come where a Player can play almost any kind of file format including a .PPT, .MOV, .RM ;-)
By the way, this model no longer exists in market... So I am not sure how many people will really read this review ;-)
