Diesel cars vs Petrol cars
Aug 12, 2014 05:35 PM 314594 Views

If we talk about fuel efficient cars then diesel is better than petrol car but in case of powerful engine then we go to the side of petrol cars.

Diesels are more expensive to buy and maintain. Diesel engines need to be built more robustly because they have to deal with very high compression compared to a typical petrol engine. Also virtually all diesels are turbocharged and run comparatively high amounts of boost, so the internals of the engine(crank, rods, pistons) need to forged for added strength.

This adds to the cost of the vehicle, and replacement parts are always more expensive than a comparable petrol engine. Diesels also usually require more frequent oil changes, fuel filter changes, etc. compared to a petrol car
