Pediasure is not your basic formula. It is specifically designed for older children. It is not something that most parents will ever have to deal with as it is to be used only under the supervision of a doctor.
How we came to use Pediasure is through complications stemming from a surgery that my son had. We started out with a simple surgery to repair a reflux problem and ended up with a g-tube and an inability to eat by mouth. When my son first started on this product, it was through the g-tube alone. Now, three years later he takes two cans orally and three to four cans through the tube.
Pediasure is easy for him to digest as it is loctose free and gluten free. The product, however, is not to be used by children with galicosemia.

Just as with infant formulas, it will stain if spilled and it is next to impossible to get the odor out of fabrics.
For oral use---shake well, drink, and enjoy. For tube feedings----shake well, poor into your feed set up, and enjoy.

I don't know how long formula will be a part of our life, but while it is; I am happy for a product that does what it says it will do. Supplement those who are not able to maintain on there own.
