Paramount Airways has always been our favourite ever since this blue bird took to the skies two years ago. The reason I like the airline
so much is quite simply, their outstanding service. I’ve travelled about ten-fifteen times, on various sectors that they operate, mostly however, Chennai-Madurai, Chennai-Bangalore and Chennai-Kochi.
Their take off and landing have been impeccable, the food inside the aircraft super delicious. One aspect about Paramount that really has my family hooked on it is the sheer sophistication inside the aircraft. The other airlines operate horrendous ATR’s along these routes and these make me feel like I’m in some kind of moving coffin. OK. I’m claustrophobic and severely so, so it may be its just me. But Paramount’s cabin space is truly comfortable. They have only window and aisles seats, so the choice is mine. The scrumptious meals are served inflight expertly after take-off. They have 3 course meals—soups, cheese salad with fresh lettuce and herbs, and the main meal is usually a delicious rice and chicken. Their continental meals are pretty good too—very tasty pasta. I always feel like Im dining in a restaurant when I fly Paramount .
But that’s not the reason that I like this airline so much. My elderly grandmother travelled with me on my last journey from Chennai-Madurai and I’d requested for wheel chair assistance. Our travel plans were finalised extremely late. At 1.40 am I called their 24 hour call centre trying to book us on a morning flight. A relative of mine had passed away in the night, and we were frantic to reach on time. To tell you the truth, I never expected them to respond that late and was about to give it up, thinking I would ask my travel agent to book in the morning, but to my shock a lady picked it up on my fourth ring. She was wonderful; I wish I had asked her for her name!! She enquired about my grandma’s meal preference, said she would certainly book us on the morning flight, which had three seats left. So far so good.
I noted the PNR and sure enough, at the airport, early the next morning I was greeted by a friendly valet, who assisted us to the terminal. It was splendid, because they took grandmom on a wheel chair to an exclusive lounge. She didn’t eat much there, but we were very comfy. Then as we boarded, the airhostess took very special care of grandma, getting her buttermilk and chatting with her. She just felt so much at home. She was in a great mood when we disembarked and even had a little of the meal they served. What was so remarkable was that the CARRIED her wheelchair down the steps (there was an ambulift in Chennai, but not in MDU), so when we landed, it was just so convenient. We were the first ones out and patti was in an EXCELLENT mood. She’s been singing the praises of the airline ever since. :D I’ve always had good experiences by Paramount and till today, I check their availability first before booking on another airline. So much so that I sometimes change the date of my travel, making it more flexible so that I can fly them. I feel that their success story down South is well deserved.
