Its always said the first impression is the best impression.. But i decided to be doubly sure  before confirming that Paramount airways

could perhaps sooner or later turn out to be Indias leading aircraft caterer inspite of  stiff competition from Kingfisher and Jet.. But this model in which the aircraft runs certainly would captivate fliers who search for the  value for money spent on  air travel..
It was one dissappointing day way back in march 2007 that we had to fly down from delhi to coimbatore and i chose the low cost airliner deccan airways .to do that. We arrived to check in around 6.00am at delhi airport to only find for our dismay that the counters where all flooded with passengers to leh, srinagar, hyderabad and our flight to mumbai.. It took almost .2hrs30mts before we could reach the counter to check in and then had to wait another 2 hrs before we actually boarded the flight at 10.30 am while it was orginally scheduled for 8.30 am. All that invited us on board was the regular mag frm deccan which asked why would a passenger need to pay that extra buck for food on the ticket for a short duration. Commonsense would say ofcourse yes why should we but when you are strandled in the airport for checkin from the morning hours and then you need to wait another few hours before we could have proper food or drink.. well when we landed at mumbai and moved in immediatly to check in for the next flight to coimbatore which was scheduled for 3.30pm we where shocked when the counter host informed that the flight for the day to coimbatore had already left in the morning at 7.30am.. well it took me some time to realise that the schedule for the month had been changed and the more worrying factor was neither the callcenter number listed on there tickets where attended upon nor the guys in delhi confirmed the change in flight plan the day prior when i had called. But even if it where i wouldnt have certainly caught the morning 7.30 am flight from mumbai when i would have been still trying to check in for the 8.30 flight at delhi. well i showed the calls made from my mobile and yep finally got my ticket refunded but then it would be longer story  to narrate that.. I managed a spice jet to chennai from mumbai and then on the phone got the paramount guy booking tickets from chennai to coimbatore the same evening.. 
This apparantly was my first travel experince with paramount and for a new entrant in the sector i was extremely surprised with the quality of service and behaviour by the support staff and the flight hosts and that day paramount airways was one of the pleasing air travels i ever had in recent times.. I didnt want to be prejudiced with such bad experinces with deccan that when the chance came again last week to fly down from chennai to coimbatore yet again i decided to fly paramount and check if what i had thought about them holds good or not..
To my surprise the experience had only got better.. I had literally managed to squeeze past the crowded chennai traffic to reach the airport to check in even when i had the sms on my mobile whch said the flight was delayed by 30mts due to trafficcongestion . the checkin counter host tendered an apology and advised me to visit there lounge for refreshments . They have this small lounge adjacent to jet airways on the second floor and as i walked in the room was already buzzing with fellow passengers sipping there tea and sandwiches that was in offer. The flight was later anounced on scheduled as the sms was in time to advise you to go for the security check and then the bus which carried you the aircraft all perfectly coordinated. The hostess i presume a manipuri girl welcomed you with a smile and a big vanakam in  tamil . Paramount infact have chosen a different aircraft for there service which clearly is like more space per seat across the width and length ( which indicated they preffered quality against quantity )and at no point of time for a 6 ft tall guy ever felt cramped. the short journey of 50 minutes was refreshing . None of the protocols was missed be it the tissue towels , the starter juice , the chocolates for grab , the magazines and newspapers in plenty ,the food the napkins and the drink. and there feedback letters. . The flight was sweet and short but was impressive . The behaviour and courtesy extended aboard the aircraft was topnotch and i was equally  impressed when i learnt that in less than a years time paramount has added more flights and have been catering to all southern cities to trivandrum , cochin hyderabad , bangalore , madurai and coimbatore . I guess the service seems to only improving and maybe in years to come i guess the business model in which paramount is operating currently should catch up with the likes of other bigger players and i see only one word all written " paramount always " could be soon the manthra for most of the Indian fliers..
Kuddos to the team  and wish they keep up the good work. No wonder the kingfisher crew is catching there clients even before they disembark frm there car at the airport on arrival ..  But i am not a business class traveller and hence wouldnt like to compare them with better services on the king fisher and jet both may be way ahead currently and definetly would take a lot of effort for paramount to reach bench marks set by them .. But my question is whether would they? .. and my gut feeling is perhaps they could be winners soon lets see..
