Ok.. history is that i flew Kingfisher airlines in the morning to chennai from bangalore and I flew Paramount airways on return in the night. My review on KF is already online ! Now its time to review Paramount.

   
I’ve always been a fan of the Embraer aircraft ever since i got an inside tour when it was parked in Coimbatore when the airline used to be based out of there. They are sexy small and powerful with one of the most modern avionics.  

Why paramount:

    I read and heard a lot of good reviews about Paraway from friends and family so when I found a good fare on them for the timing i needed.. I simply bought a ticket but the hit in the wallet was really worth it!  I was really looking forward for flying on paraway and this time i was lucky (Boss hope u dont mind me saying this LOL)

I was booked on the 9:30 PM flight and had already chosen a seat of my choice (9A) while booking the ticket. I reached the airport just in time due to heavy rains but the check in staff were more than helpful. "We were expecting you sir" .... i dont see that in other airlines.  

I got my boarding pass but my seat was 19B on it! what the..... before i could complete the gentleman informed me that there was an aircraft change and instead of an E170 its goign to be a E175 so all seat allocation had vanished!   too bad i was on the last but 2nd row but hey im going to fly a 3 month old baby thats exciting besides I didnt mind the seat since i was scheduled to visit the cockpit - thanks to F/o who was a friend of mine. 

It was 9:45 and no sign of the aircraft or announcements and no displays either.. What the.... again before i could complete a not-so-hot girl in paramount airways came around apologizing for the delay in the incoming aircraft. That was better! A few minutes later , the boarding call was made. Then the usual routine of ’catching the bus’ to the aircraft and finding the seat.

Some things which i only read of was experienced in this flight

As I entered the aircraft , there was the chief flight attendant standing with a not-so-fake smile and a namaste pose. Then there was a guy who i believe was smiling ever since i boarded till i disembarked and two others who were serving the forward section.   FYI - This plane had first class section but it was empty and curtained off. 

Now for the goodies ... 

First - Cold towels to wipe of the sweat
Then - Toffees 
Then - Welcome drink - Tender coconut or Apple juice

It was amazingly quiet aircraft and i didnt realize we were taxying until i looked outside after my drink. Safety demo followed and had a lift off (I dont want to call it take off !!) . I was waiting for my friend to call me to the cockpit but before i could turn to call the FA , my tray was lowered , covered with a neat tablecloth and order was taken ... I said i wanted to visit the ’pilot’s office’ .. The cabin crew were more concerned about my health they were adamant that i finish dinner and then proceed.  Blow me down - never had this experience ever since i move out of home !  I chose non veg dinner...    Piping hot Chicken Biriyani , Salad , Gulab jamun  (Courtesy TAJ SATS) - yummy!
And later came the best part.. some thing what i missed in my morning flight.. Coffee !!! Captain informed about the descent.. Whizzzzz.. the tray was cleared and folded back by a lightening fast crewmember.

    I couldnt visit the cockpit since we were on hold over bangalore and had mild turbulence so i was informed that the flight crew wanted me to wait until we landed and then spend some time  after between disembarking of the pax and boarding of the return pax. Oh well.... acceptable! 

  Landing was pretty normal..    Some passengers did have the Air Deccan syndrome of getting up from their seats as soon as the plane landed :) Sigh! We were parked and i went straight to the cockpit to meet my old friend had a half an hour chat .. and realised that there was a ground crew member waiting outside the a/c to escort me back to the terminal since their van already left with the incoming pax and to collect the return pax.  Anyways it was nice walking on the tarmac near the big jets ( Caution :  fumes from jet engines can make your voice vanish for a few days ) 


Flying Kingfisher and Paramount on the same day was really a great experience. but given a choice I’d certainly choose paramount for the pampering i recieved while on board which far outweighs the "royal"ness of kingfisher but no complaints on both
