Let me share a secret, I have a habit of buying out cell phones during the Sale (upto 50%) in Europe. Since European phones work fine in India (unlike the US ones), I gift the phones to my relatives and friends.

Continuing my habit, this Friday, I bought yet another mobile phone ... Panasonic GD35(for 4K - if you are guessing the sale value). It has a sleek look, is as small as the Nokia 3000 series, very very light. The battery lasts longer. I had charged it for just 2 hours on Saturday evening and it's still not run out (even after a talking time of about 1 hour). The SIM card can be replaced within seconds. This is the best part of this mobile. For those of you who keep swapping between 2 or more SIM cards (for some vague reasons), this phone is very handy. The back panel (inside) is designed in such a way that you do not waste time at all in changing the SIM card.

It has all the WAP facilities (but I never used it) - I prefer the computer but a sales guy in my company who uses this service a lot is admiring the features ... very honest ... I have no clue! Other features include keeping track of the duration for incoming/outgoing calls for each phone no.

The reception is better. It works in certain levels of underground (metro).

The one negative thing I found about this phone was the Switch ON/OFF button. It took me a whole day to figure out that button. It is clubbed with your Hold up button. But then you need to press the button twice within an interval of 5 seconds for it to work. Can be regarded as a great feature from the security point of view but it's a bit annoying. This is my first Panasonic. I am not sure if the problem prevails in all the Panasonic phones. Another negative point is the T9 editor where in you can't type a name straight away. I am still struggling with it. Anybody who can lend me a helping hand, please do so.

But overall, I am quite satisfied with this phone til date. Will update you all in case of an upset.

(Added later):

Just found out some more interesting points about my GD35:

1.One-touch access to the Short Message Service menu provides you with a range of pre-programmed SMS messages. You'll also be able to create your own messages much more quickly with T9 text input and view all the gossip from your friends more easily with the large display screen. The T9 editor is great for writing a SMS but not for storing the names.

2.For your own amusement and a bit of visual fun, you can set-up your GD35 to display a choice of two animations when you use the text message facility. Choose from a really cool penguin that travels across the screen to deliver your message for you or a cute puppy that barks when the postman arrives to collect your message. I got this from the manual and features but I have only one of them. Wonder why?

3.Want to know who's calling you without even looking? The GD35 has 20 different ring tones and you can link your favourite ones to five of your best mates' numbers from your SIM phonebook. Want to be more discreet? The GD35's vibration alert facility is ideal when you want to know someone's calling, but you don't want anyone else to hear.

  1. The best feature that I found out recently is that it has 6 hours of talking time (which is unbelievable but true). I have use it for almost 3 hours till now without recharging.

  2. It has all the other features - calculator, alarm clock, 1 silly game, alert profile, etc.

Looks like the further I find out about it, the better it's gonna be.:-)
