I am a Poud owner of Palio 1.6GTX , an awe some car to own and drive, make u feels as the best man owns a beast.
The same feeling continued for a very long time till on a very fine day the problem began.
No idea as to what went wrong but yes I could feel that there is a problem when I felt the light jerks during only idling, same continued and when reported to the TATA Service centres about the same was informed that this is normal in Palio 1.6 after a few years, well it was difiicult for me to accept that, however with respect to thier word continued driving , but the problem seeems to worsen by day and one fine day these jerks were very strong and evident during idling which made the whole palio body shake.
Even when the TATA SC were not able to trace the problem inspite of me telling them that there is a problem with the fuel injectors as the RPM hunt was very evident (RPM fluctuation from 1000 to 0).
The problems as listed below :
1) Huge RPM variation
2) Vibrations in the engine
3) Enigine Jerks only during Idling.etc.
This is the time I felt bad about owning a palio.
Later I had reported the problem to "OM Sai Motors (Bosch Service Centre - Marathalli, Bangalore).
Now I had some one who would take a genuine interest getting the problems resolved.
All things I have tried to get rid of the Jerks have definitely gone in the positive direction, spent a lot of money but yes now looking at the butter smooth condition every penny is worth spent.
Details :
Three injectors cleaned and one replaced
Silencer mufler replcaed as it was leaking
Fan motor replaced (original Value) as it had vibrations
Spark Plug cables replaced as there was a leak
Irridium Spark plugs
After all these done and test driven for a 1000 KMS the jerks had reduced almost 90% but yes they still existed but with intervals.
Hence did further R&D, hanged the intake manifold
Decarbonized the engine
Engine Flushed and Engine oil changed (Fully synthetic Castrol Edge)
And the result is awesome.
The power/acceleration is much more improved also the jerks have reduced now almost 98% , however can be heard only while tried for a fine listening effort and believe even that would disappear with frequent run.
Grt effort but worth it.I am happy now with all the tensions I have gone thru and efforts I have put in in getting the issues resolved moreover its the mechanics who had the patience to get my issues resolved irrespective of the time and irritating not-so easy problems.
