Misuse and somewhat addictive

Peeping into others’ monitors is one of my non-billable tasks in office. Once in a while I get caught red-handed for the reprehensible act. All the same, I somehow manage the accompanying embarassments

with the widest grins, followed by some instinctive question. The latest one passed off last afternoon when my sight was hopelessly wandering in a lookout for an interesting monitor and ended up landing on one with an Orkut screen. This Orkuttan seemed to have had a heavy lunch, sleepy, disinterested in work and was aimlessly surfing through various Orkutties’ profiles, and it was already 3 minutes or so since I had been shamelessly staring at his monitor. He gave an abrubt 90-degree turn, alas, I was caught.

With the above-mentioned grin, complimented by an intelligent frown, I asked him "Is that Orkut by any chance?

He answered in the affirmative with a cold look.

I quickly feigned "Nice. Whats your full name there, I would like to send you a friend request".

"Sorry friend, I am planning to delete my profile in Orkut, not interested in it anymore" he said in a flat tone.

"But why?" I empathetically enquired with a curiosity roughly resembling a kindergarten kid

"I haven’t been getting friend requests or scraps since a long time; Tch..my profile’s not worth putting up there"

I was silent for a second. He continued "May be because I am married" (He nailed it)

After a 2-second silence .

"If you are married, why do you need Orkut?" I enquired

He turned towards me, gave a naughty grin and said "To make friends yaar"

Post script:
Firstly, no offence meant against all my married friends in Mouthshut. Just wanted to throw some light on an instance of human folly, especially the male homosapien who wants more and more. I do agree, a good number from the fairer-sex too flaunt thier value in Orkut, inappropriately denominated in terms of the number of friends and testimonials they have to their credit.

Lastly, I do agree that the question I raised "why do you need orkut when you are married?" is ridiculous and equally, if not more, deserving for an upfront tear-apart, but i wouldn’t have got the married gentleman’s intention without me asking the question. I hope you would take this post constructive. Also do narrate in brief any other laughable instance regarding Orkut which you might have run across.

Take care
 Victor
