Story:

The book starts with the sorrow and grief which Sheryl Sandberg(the COO of facebook) faces when her husband and founder of survey Monkey Dave Goldberg passes. The book starts slowly and touches the very sensitive topics of the day to day lives which everybody some way or the other way faces. She discusses lengths of different problems and how people become resilient towards them over the period of time. She starts with her own story of sorrow and grief and explains how its difficult to explain to kids that their father is no more with them. She then moves on the problems which men and women face and how some of them have fought in the face of adversity. Several small incidents have been cited in the book for e.g an incident related to the rape of a woman by her colleague on the pretext of giving her lift to her apartment or the incident involving present day Syria and IRAQ and how people face them. These incidents definitely break people and most of the people simply do not know how to cope up with them. This book throws light on such topics where the power of grief is too strong and people seek to get over it.

Pros- The book beautifully speaks about various situations and complexities of life where we are overpowered by grief and sorrow. The book tries to explain solutions where we could fight and overcome grief and sorrow.

Cons- The author most of the time narrates her life with her late husband which clearly shows that she is still in Grief. But nevertheless, it is less weighed compared to the Pros. I would give thumbs up and recommend this book to be read.
