Okay. Go ahead, read this nonsense. Then read Report to the Nation:  Oppression in Punjab which is compiled by a fact finding team of truth-seeking Hindus who went to Punjab and to its many villages in 1985. I see only this and a few other books as worthy of reviewing and promoting. So actually, this is a review of Report to the Nation, not Brar's trash. Still, my review will tell you what Brar fails to mention for sure in his garbage that he calls truth.

Why I wrote this review for another book instead of Brar's:  Firstly, this site does not have Oppression in Punjab; otherwise I would have posted this review for it. Secondly, I assume that those who want to buy Brar's book do not know much about the operation and its aftermath. You wish to read what Brar has to say. Well, he does not mention the things in my review below. His book is, as someone said, full of lies. He has no credibility. So, in this review, I attempt to point out things that you may not have known before and will not receive from reading Brar's book. Sorry if I wasn't clear on that.

What Brar does not say but Oppression in Punjab does:  the team investigates the truth about Operation Blue Star. In this paragraph and the next I attempt to reveal only a few things that Brar most definitely does not include in his book. The members of the team interview many people including those who were actually inside Harimander Sahib and the Golden Temple complex during the operation. You need to realize, these are the reporters; no one else was there to witness it as reporters, media, EVEN THE RED CROSS was BANNED from coming anywhere near Harimander Sahib. Well, the government did have MUCH to hide. The entire attack was planned at least a year before; the gov't had made a replica of the Golden Temple complex where the army had "practiced." Brar is full of nonsense. He talks about the army not attacking Harimander Sahib, about the soldiers respecting the holiest temple in Sikh faith. According to the many witnesses AND bullet holes/other destruction to the complex, the army did not warn those who were inside nor did they wait a few days for the "terrorists" to start shooting; all witnesses say that they army attacked on the very first day. Furthermore, the army did not take off their shoes like Brar claims, nor does it attempt to avoid inflicting damage to the Guru Granth Sahib; the GGS was found with bullet holes inside of it. There is much more about the operation itself- I strongly encourage you to read the book.

Remember, this report was compiled only less than a year after Blue Star. So the team was there to witness the aftermath. Villagers of Punjab gave the team fresh, current news on Operation Woodrose, the government's "clean up" operation in which it gave Punjab police extraordinary power, instituted Black Laws, still had Punjab cut off from the rest of India in terms of news while feeding India B.S., openly targeted Amritdharis and other Sikhs, destroyed farmers' crops, abused and raped women, set up fake encounters and militancies, etc, etc the list goes on.

I can only give so much information in a review. Read the book for more truthful knowledge, witness accounts, and even post mortem reports of those who had died during torture from police in the aftermath of the operation.(BTW, no post mortem reports were given after the operation. Bodies weren't even given back to their families after the Indian army had attacked their own people although bodies were returned to families after the Jallian Wala Bagh massacre, which was committed by British soldiers on Indians).

Anyway, what it comes down to is, this team wrote about the REAL situation in Punjab. So much so that the government banned the book, arrested the team members THE VERY DAY the report was released. Ever wonder why Brar's own book wasn't banned? My point is don't waste money on Brar's junk that he calls the untold story of Operation Blue Star. The real untold stories are in reports like Oppression in Punjab, reports that were themselves suppressed.

I hope this review was clearer; the last one was written in haste. I apologize for that.
