I am driving this car since 2007. I purchased this car from my company after 53,000 km and believe me I never regretted. My car is Dec 2004 make.
Just to give you an idea about I much I have travelled
by this car:
My home town is Kolkata. I have travelled almost entire North India with the Car. Places include Entire MP, Rajasthan, UP, Bihar, Chattisgarh,Part of Himachal, Uttaranchal, Panjab and J&K. I have also drove my corsa to Kalimpong, Darjeeling, Bhutan.
Except minor tyre puncture I never faced any problem on road. I remember during my north India trip my car almost flew on the Bumper which was unexpectedly placed on the National Highway. I thought I’ll not be able to drive back up to Kolkata. But simply nothing happened.
Now let me tell you how I manage my car:
I usually check my car after every 10,000 kms only. That includes routine servicing. Of late I found my front suspension was giving problem (May be due to that Jump) and I replaced few parts of the suspension. Recently I found unusual noise from my car. When checked I found silencer pipe was worn out. So I did fix that with the help of a local guy. It took me Rs 150 only. Apart from these I hardly have any big issues.
During weekend I often drive this car around 400 km ( Kolkata to Shantineketan and back) it usually give around 14-15 km/lt. But during my North India trip twice I got very good mileage up to 17-17.5 km/lt. I think mileage of this car largely depends on the handling and how often you press your clutch. I usually handle this car very gently. Always keep some steering oil, break oil and coolant in reserve and top up whenever necessary.

Max speed I attended with this car was 155 km/hr on NH2 with 4 person load. And I never felt uncomfortable. Steering tend to shake whenever wheel balancing goes out otherwise never. I believe it’s easily possible to attend more speed than I clocked.

Before long journey like my North India trip which was more than 10,000 km, I took it to the Local Service Station and asked them to tighten all the underbody screws properly.
Only disadvantage of this car I can see is height. My underground steel plate often bruises against stone on the hilly road. Once Gear oil got contaminated when I was driving on water so I had to change it. I usually don’t take out this car after heavy rain when Kolkata’s road become water logged.I can’t give 100 marks to the Driver’s seat too specially during night. In city I get mileage around 12.5-13km/lt which is not bad compared too many cars. Under no circumstances I got mileage below 11km/lt. Secret could be my regular iftex use. I also try to fill the tank from Indian Oil’s petrol pump. Typically from Engineers Petrol Pump (On Gurusaday Dutta Road) and I use normal oil only.
Conclusion: GM could be very successful in this segment just bringing the car’s spare parts down. Also if they could increase the Fuel Efficiency. It’s sad that GM has stopped selling this beauty in India.
