Shopping experience with online store Techshop.in. Review on Online Shopping Experience

This is to share my online shopping experience with Techshop.in or Techshop India. I got the recommendation from shopmania.in or shopmania  that Samsung Galaxy S i9000 is costing less at Techshop.in. When I went to website I found that it is costing around Rs. 25000.00 and you get additional discount when you make a payment using bank transfer.

I called them up and made sure that product is available and cost and everything is fine. They confirmed me over e-mail that it is available and ready to ship. I called them and asked why it is costing less and if they are going to give me a new product. They assured me that it will be a sealed product and carry 1 year manufacturer warranty. I was also happy that I am getting a product at a cheaper price and made the payment immediately using online transfer.

But everything changed once I made the payment. I kept on chasing them and they advised that your order is in progress.  Worst thing is that their website says to call 09323699901(M-F, 9am-6pm) but the number mentioned will be switch off till 11:30 Am and will be off again by 5 PM. In case you contact them and phone rings  before 11:30 AM they will cut the call.

After lot of chase I found that it is costing less as their system failed to calculate taxes. Now they asked me to make the price difference and cost of product using Blue Dart shipping with insurance became costlier than my local dealer. So I asked them for a refund and response from their side was very slow. I became nervous as the mobile phone mentioned was not reachable and sometimes they will cut the call. There were other numbers mentioned on that website but those were not working under contact us link-

They advised that I should go with DTDC and it will save me few hundred rupees but after reading the experience on another review on mouthshut I was reluctant to do that. Please refer to the review below-

So I asked them for a refund. I made them an online payment within couple of seconds but while refund they said they cannot deposit or transfer the money back. I asked them if they can issue a cheque which is at par so that I can deposit that in Bangalore. But they sent me DD which is payable at Chennai. Therefore I had to send that DD to Chennai by courier again.

Moral of the story is that do not believe too attractive offers.
