2017 was a remarkable year for me because I represented India in the 26th World Memory Championship in Shenzhen, China. I was so proud to be amongst the best of the best competitors from around the world. Just thinking of that made me feel very happy. As a result of our rigorous training, team India stood 4th out of 104 countries. I was thrilled to be a part of a team that made the country proud. With my record-breaking scores, I was amongst the top competitors in the Indian team. I am Studying in the 7th grade at Oakridge International School, my school has supported me immensely during my training hours by being flexible with my timings and academics which helped me succeed. I joined Oakridge in the year 2013; the school always supported me in any extracurricular activity I showed interest in. I also participated in an "International Spelling Bee Championship" in 4th grade. The school assisted me throughout my journey of achievements. It was a tough challenge to balance between my academics and the memory sport but with the support of my teachers who used their precious time to take extra classes for me so that I could come back on track after my competition and I would like to thank my class teacher Ms. Aparna, my Science teacher Mrs. Shivani, and my English teacher Mrs. Usha. My coordinator Mrs. Navitha and the vice principal Mrs. Hema Chennupati encouraged me during the tough times in my training. I dedicate this award to my parents and my brother as they supported me throughout my journey of success. I also couldn't have done it without the man who shaped the Indian team, The Squadron leader Mr. Jayasimha who is my coach. I was astonished when I got the news that the Vice President of India Sri.M.Venkaiah Naidu wanted to meet and appreciate the Indian team and me because of our hard work. The Vice President stated that we inspired 1.2 Billion people, by achieving something so extraordinary at such a young age. I am looking forward to becoming the "World memory Champion" in 2020. This is my goal for the future and I will work even harder and train even more rigorously to climb to more astonishing heights. The "2017 World Memory Championship" was a memorable experience as I discovered that they were no limitations to what I could achieve. The words I lived by are "The more you train the more you achieve".
