Decided to adopt a fitness regime after multiple failed attempts at getting myself to wake up early morning and go for a long run. Visited O2 Besant Nagar as it was close to my house and initially decided to go in for a 3-month programme. After exploring all available options, I settled on the annual programme. It's been 1.5 months now and I am fully satisfied with my progress after losing 2 kgs and going strong.
There is typically one trainer on weekends (not many turn up on Saturday evenings) and on some weekdays there are as many as 5-6 trainers around. Some of them I believe are for the ones who enrolled for a personal trainer programme whereby he/she gets dedicated and undivided focus from a specific trainer.
The part about trainers being indifferent, as many others claim here, is not true at least in my case as I have received assistance as and when I ask for it. It is common in most gyms for the members to do workouts on their own after a few days of initial assistance from trainer.
If the members had asked for assistance and did not get it, then the management must look into it and take action. In my case, I ask for assistance and I get it. A leading Tamil actor also does workouts everyday and seeks assistance to get it. Ask and you shall get it is the mantra.
Would give a thumbs up to the maintenance of the equipment and the general hygiene. There are housekeeping staff around to ready the equipment for the next user as soon as one user is finished with his/her workout.
Areas of improvement: Radio O2 can play more variety of fast paced music rather than stick to only latest hits most of which are repeated through the day.
