Pros:
hi-end features & candy look
Cons:
hangs up after automatic speaker mode

Hi,
I got Nokia E50 on Mar’07 from my home town Salem, TN. To be frank, I wanted to go for Nokia N70 or Sony-610i.  I read the reviews of those mobiles in MS and both were reasonably found good. I am pretty comfortable with Nokia than Sony, (difference is like left hand and right hand drives..:) ) as I am using Nokia for more than 5 years. But still I amazed with that Sony product.

After seeing those models, I was convinced by my friends on Nokia E-series as the features are good to me except FM, 2.0 MP and on-phone speakers. .. This is my first high-end phone .. I don’t want to invest more without knowing or using all the technologies. But I don’t have option to verify our MS reviews .. :( .. So I had a belief on my friends and gave a try on E-50.

Pros ....
#) Steel body of the phone makes the look of the phone robust ..!!
# This phone is quite handy and love that candy look, that  fit in my shirt pockets ( I don’t use pouches as King’s sword .. hehehe) as well my budget, the cost worked out cheaper than N70 .. I saved 2-3 thousands on that.
# Quality of video images are good and  crystal clear. You can get good audio reception when you use head pieces. Phone speaker is not that effective as this mobile is meant for ’Business’ !!
# Camera is 1.3 MP and it is handy when you forgot to take your camera for an important occasion. The picture is clear and effective if you have proper lights.
# Phone has 70 MB in build memory and can be extendable to 1 GB. ( Not sure if we can go beyond that .. may need to check it out ) .. Of course, 1 GB is sufficient enough to store important documents, songs, pictures...etc.  I used max of 40% of the memory till date.
# Reg office products, I used Adobe and XL sheets. It is ok and easy to use. I can’t comment much on that as I haven’t used extensively.

#) I have to exploide much on the ‘Black-berry’ features in this phone. I am hoping I will be comfortable on that.
# Phone says the calling person name from contact in between rings. This is very helpful when I am driving alone. If the call is from any important person, I can pull my car to shoulders and contact them immediately.

Cons ... Very few times this phone worked ’cranky’ ... It automatically goes to ’Speaker’ mode when you receive calls. After the call, you can neither switch off nor disconnect the call. You have to remove the batteries to kill it. It hangs.

Is it a software problem ? Any one fixed this problem by sending Nokia service? Shall I send to Nokia service?

Final Verdict ... Overall this is a good hi-end phone and value for money. Nokia has to fix the above problem as I see couple of MS reviews pointing this out.
