Cons:
Internal Memory

After using my Nokia 6230 for two years, I thought its time for a new mobile. Options were Nokia’s 6233, N-72, E-50 or a FLY2040 . Checking other alternatives from "My Mobile" magazine,

finally I ended up buying a Nokia 6233 from the gadget outlet.

There are two reasons behind this. First, I was extremely happy and satisfied with the small and powerpacked Nokia 6230 and 6233 is an upgradation of the former. Secondly, at the shop I found this model is comparatively the best available option for me in terms of its size, price and features.

For obvious reasons this review may appear as a mere comparision between the two models but thats a limitation I have to live with.

This110 gm 3G **  instrument comes with 320 X 240 display and sterio speakers. The best improvement from its earlier platform is the hotswappable micro SD card which can be upgraded upto 2 GB(64 mb comes with the set). Some of my friends feel the look of the model is dated.

The handset can be switched on without a sim card. The best part is the quality of the fonts and quality of display. One would really love the very small characters/ fonts in the message screen. However the active standby screen font is a big disapointment. Quality of video (max upto mem-card capacity) and excellent photographs (5x zoom)with its 2 megapix lens is amazing.

It does not come with the wallet feature to securely keep your information (present in 6230) and Nokia should include a data cable (CA-53) with the pack. Only 6 mb internal memory is good for nothing. Phonebook contains 500 while 6230 was with 1000 entries.

One would be pleased after using it for some days because of the friendly and uncomplicated features. The key-pad handling is smooth and soft. Standard Series-40 Java OS ebabled handset can compete with the most advanced Symbian handsets on the feature side. With features like 3G, edge, HSCSD, MP3, Radio, MicroSD, 2MP cam, QVGA screen, dual Speakers you may term it as a music or multimedia phone. Battery (Li-Po 1100 ) life is Nokia standard although I have not compared with their claim of 340 hrs standby and 4 hrs talktime.

Nokia 6233 is definitely worth a look while deciding for a new handset.

**(3G technology helps to simultaneously transfer both voice data and non-voice data like downloading information, exchanging e-mail, and instant messaging. The highlight of 3G is video telephony and data-intensive services such as stock transactions, e-learning and telemedicine.)

Purchase Price: 13700
