5610- Nseries phone in guise of regular phone!. Review on Nokia 5610

Nokia 5610- N-series Phone in guise of Regular phone.     What you look for in a mobile phone? For me, phone is basically for communication, so call quality and battery life is paramount, then other freebies. But this phone is going to be Valentine gift to my wife, so looks are added. Since we have New angel arrived on 12th Feb and my wife is with her only all the time, some entertainment should be there, so MP3, FM, Camera should be there. What an excuses!   Then What brand.

With explosion of electronic gadgets, I am fed up with all those wires and want to keep things simple. So prefer one brand. All in family have Nokia phone, so have same charger, same data cable, same memory card type.    Now the actual review    Looks:   LOOKS STUNING!. Black and red combination looks stunning. But glossy finish on front is icing on the cake. Though it attracts fingerprints you can wipe out easily. Dimension are perfect, meaning it is not that bulky, so you fill handling a brick or not that slim/ small that it slip from your hand.    Interface :  It is definitely a phone which gets attention. Screen is bright, clear and adjust brightness according to outer condition as it has sensor for that. Colour looks natural as the same photo looked faint and with less red in my cousin’s Sony erricson w610. Screen size is also large 2.2 inches. The front also has camera for video calling though the feature is service provider dependent.    Front keys :  Front has a sliding key. It’s shortcut key for FM, MP3 player or Standby screen. But key is addictive as it’s smooth and feels like you are going from one page of book to another.

There is white light below slider which glow when call missed or message which is customable.  At center is navigation key which is also simple but some time wrong presses also there. I would have liked joystick but it would have damaged looks of the phone. It is surrounded by call, end and short cut keys. But the keys are in ceramic like so appear sophisticated.    Software :  Nokia S40 5th addition. It is fast, no hanging pictures load fast but depends on size of the picture not hat super fast. Preinstalled with opera mini.    Camera :  3 megapixel, auto focus with carl zeiss optics and xenon lights. Previously camera on phone for me is just a wasteful accessory but this phone gives realy stunning pictures. All pictures in my profile are taken with this camera. I also load it here. Indoor photos with tubelight on also give very good pictures. Only close up photos with flash on have some washed out effect. Camera have all necessary settings like automatic flash on. It also has video mode which is good .    Music player :  Nokia market this phone as xpessmusic phone but does not provide with 3.5 mm jack but regular 2.5mm. But given a solution in the form of extension cable which has 3.5mm jack and you can use any other make headphone. Phone has dedicated music chip. Sound from speaker is stunning. Quality from headphone is not that good but you can try any other good quality headphones.  Also you need not have specialised software to load the music on the card, you can just copy pate.    Battery life :  3-4 days with occasional use of 1-2 hr daily music, or fm radio. With only music they claim 22hrs. I have not tried but battey life is quite good and definitely much better than n series phone. May be Nokia S40 software consumes less power.    Bluetooh :  Supports A2DP and all other regular versions. Detects other phone easily transfer data fast.    Pc connection :  Detected as data storage mode, software mode( nokia suite) synchronize with outlook. Can be used as modem. No problem like with other make of phones as my previous motorola E398 depend on my luck to get detected on PC.    Memory Card :  Micro SD card. 512MB standard. But I have 2 GB card which with adapter I can use in my Nikon camera or in my other nokia phone.    Slider phone :  I forgot to mention that it is slider phone but is good at that. The sliding is smooth.

The phone is all metal phone so sliding is not loose like 5300 and smooth. Good engineering. The buttons are well spaced but people with fat fingers may find difficult the upper most row of buttons. People who communicate only with sms will have hard time and for that matter with any slider phone, otherwise we very few times open the slider for our routine use.    Pros :   Innovative sliding button but only music and fm. No other function activated.   3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus.   Good music   Fast operating system   Sturdy   Good battery life compare to other multimedis phone   Price 12700 and still falling    Cons:   Very hard to find. Far fetched cons are   Volume button on side difficult to press   Navigaton key sometimes wrongly pressed   No 3.5mm socket on the phone but on extension wire   Back cover is thin and fill delicate but we never open it again and again   No lense cover    So for average person this is value for money phone.    Feature wise it is same as N73M phone. N73M phone has nokia s60 software, good quality headphones and bulky but 5610 is more std in 2.5mm/3.5 mm connection, micro USB port, thin.      All photos on my post are with this phone, your comments are welcome on this review and for photos also.
