I am from India, I purchased a Nokia 500 mobile handset from https://homeshop18.com at a cost of INR 8399 and the same was delivered by their vendor “Air Communication Services, V-218, Rajouri Garden, New Delhi-110027”

Within a month of delivery of the product, there was some problem with the screen display and nothing was visible for which I contacted their service centre in Jan’13. As the same was under warranty, they repaired the handset and returned back in good condition. It was in the month of May (21-May-2013) when the problem started again with the screen display and I gave the phone to following Nokia Care Centre for repair: Nokia Care CarePoint, 199F, 27th Cross, 3rd Block, Jayanagar, Above Nilgiris 560011, Bangalore, India Phone: +919611111145/ 080-41211151/080-413-7445


When I met them, they said it’s a liquid damage and the repair would cost INR 2100 (They never mentioned any other damage like motherboard etc. during this conversation).  I agreed and after 15 days I received a call from them saying that the handset has been repaired and asked me to collect it from the care centre. Within 3 days of this call, I received another call from them saying that the motherboard of the handset is not working and I would be charged INR 4800 for the same. I was surprised how the motherboard of my handset can get damaged when I gave the handset with the screen display problem only.


I went to their Care centre and met Sunil Derasariya, who was the manager and he assured me that the handset will be repaired in the previous said amount and asked me to call back in 2-3 days. When I tried to call him at his mobile no. 9343330303 & 9611111145 and email to carepointjnr_bglr@nokiacareindia.com, he never bothered to pick my call or respond back to sms, I had to call their centre number where I was told the same story and asked to take the instrument back as it is not repairable. My Nokia 500 motherboard has been damaged by their technical team and they are covering up its charges by asking me to pay for it. I can buy a local made phone rather than buying such brand mobiles.


I was so devastated by their behavior that I filed a complaint through Nokia call centre at 080-30303838 with Complaint no. 1-14635416946 dated 6th September 2013 but they are only saying that we have escalated your complaint and no solution thereafter. Its almost 4 months that my handset is lying there and Nokia is least bothered for their after-sales service.


I request your team to help me in this regard for getting compensation.
