I bought a 2000 Xterra and I have had a lot of trouble with it. My AC went out in it, the rear doors do not open wide enough to get cargo or people in it in comfort. My latest problem is the security/door lock system. My doors keep unlocking on their own. They will not lock with the remote control key lock...I have put in new batteries in the remotes. I will lock the vehicle and it will instantly unlock all four doors and the emergency lights will flash.
All of the doors unlock as I am driving down the road. Has anyone else had this kind of problem? The locking system and/or their AC going out? Any information or suggestions would be appreciated. I bought the Xterra to travel with my two German Shepherd Dogs to dog shows. I do like the solid feel of the vehicle on the road. It gives me a feeling of security in heavy traffic.
I have the SC four wheel drive.
