Niligiri's Super store near ORR - Sobha apartments - an harrowing experience.


I have been a regular customer of Nilgiri's at ORR near Sobha Apartments, frequenting twice a week for the last 6 months. Last week's harrowing experience at the store has prompted me not to enter Nilgiri's store ever again. I am planning on making all my colleagues aware about the harrowing experience I have had at Nilgiri's and discourage them from going to Nilgiri's unless they want to be treated in a bad manner.


I had bought merchandise worth 210 rupees but I had paid a total of 230 rupees of Sodexo coupons i.e. 50 X 4 nos + 30 X 1 no. Upon paying the entire amount the cashier recorded the payment and continued his business. When I asked him to return my balance 20 rupees that when I was made aware that the balance amount will not be paid as I had paid the amount in Sodexho. I replied I would have appreciated if this information was told to me earlier as I wanted him to return the 30 rupees sodexho so that I can pay 10 rupees in cash instead.


To this the cashier argued as he has already billed it is not possible. When I tried to reason out with him, he made a statement as to why was I making so much fuss about Sodexho which I have got it free!!! I am not sure from where he had got this idea.I insisted on seeing the manager. I was presented with a person who did not understand english and went on insisting that I must buy something extra for the balance of 20 rupees. He went on to add "what madam estu doddu company nali kelsaa maadtaaidyaare matte 20 rupees hoskaraa jagalaa madtaa idaare." That was too much for me. What right those people have to tell me where I work and how much I earn. There were more customers waiting in queue which did not deter the cashier nor manager to hurry things to a conclusion.


After much argument finally the manager asked the cashier to revert the bill and remove the record of 3o rupees paid by sodexho and I paid the balance 10 rupees in cash and left the store with much frustration.


As I was stepping out I told the manager - "Thank you for the way you have treated me. I am not going to come back ever again to this place. and going to tell my friends about this and discourage them from coming here." To this the manager and cashier gave me a look which read "do we care? we have many people coming to our shop anyways."


Please send the people for some training and make them aware how to treat a customer or else I am sure you will lose your customer base to other super markets.
