Our family used to swear by Nilgiris for its quality and impeccable customer centric policy. We used to love going to Nilgiris, buy our provisions and then walk down to the Cake shop for the hot samosas, veg puffs and cheese rolls. This had been the practise for atleast the past 15 years.
But now with the change in management, lots of changes have happened. The old staff are very few in number. Though the quality of the food products has been maintained (god know for how long), the treatment of the customers is pathetically bad.
You have the so called "managers" who say they were in a meeting when customers have to wait. This was unheard of before. If a product was not found we had to just ask and in seconds we either had the product in hand or a very polite sorry telling us that the product is not in stock.
I think they must remove the saying of Mahatma Gandhi which says "Customer is the reason for their work " unless they have already done it. The Cake shop, a place where we used to get good snacks is also serving a new menu and most of the old items are missing. Though they have spruced upĀ the place, we miss the old items. I guess those good old days are lost and it is just memories we will have to live with. Feels sad....
