The D day is finally gone. 21st Nov would have been the D Day for approx 1.5 lakhs students who appreared for CAT. And even this time it was not a very smooth sail for the students. Thankfully the paper didnft leak, but this time the buzz word is eChange in patternf.

My sister is one of the students who appeared in this exam. She has been preparing for the last 6 months and has joined one of the coaching institutes for focussed preparation. The institute is good enough but they could provide some more services for the students.

Like arranging the forms from various institutes. I see students wasting their time and energy in these forms rather than studying. It is so time consuming to arrange these forms Each institute have different centres for their forms. First we have to get the DD made, then go the specific centre and collect the form. . These coaching institutes should take into consideration this aspect and should provide more services.

Filling up each form is in itself a project. With some institutes, first we have to get the DD made, then with the DD no. we would be able to get the form from the website. After filling up all the information we have to take the print out of this form and courier it to the respective institute. Good I didnft aim for a full time course.

The whole procedure of applying to each of these institutes is so exhausting. Gosh. The system is so complicated that if an aspirant residing in the backwards of India, where the accessibility to internet is not too good, wants to apply, he cannot even imagine of applying in these institutes. The line is drawn at this level itself.

The most disgusting procedure among all these institutes is Narsee Monjee Institute. I am sure it would be hard to believe that such a thing is happening with one of the very famous institutes. They have only one authorized centre in Delhi for the forms, which is located in Cannaught Place ie Central Delhi. And the numbers of forms that they are stocking are very limited. Students are not properly informed about the availability of the same over the phone, and most of the time they are out of stock.

I have heard cases where students staying in the outskirts of Delhi have travelled to the centre thrice to collect the form, and still could not get the same. Not only this, the centre incharges were not ready to inform the students as to by when would the forms be available. The last date for collecting the form was 15th Nov.

The centre was not even ready to reserve the forms against the DD for the students. They were asked to come personally to collect the form and their fixed answer was that gforms would be given on first come first serve basish. I guess they donft know what it means. A student who has been trying to get the form for so many days and is not able to get the same because the forms are not available, should be entertained first. Isnt it?

When we tried calling Narsee Monjee for finding out about the same, even the counsellors there were not giving any concrete information. They were asking all the students to send the DD directly to Narsee Monjee Mumbai. But since 12th to 15th Nov was off for Diwali, courier services were also not available. And those who had not collected the forms were in dire straits. Finally on 16th Nov the announcement that the last date for collecting the forms has been extended to 25th Nov was made. Some relief. But again the last date for submitting the form remains the same ie 30th Nov.

We had no other option but to send the DD to Mumbai. It was sent on 11th Nov thru courier. And when called today to find out if the forms have been despatched, the counsellor is not sure again. She comes up with a comment, g I guess it was couriered on 17th or 18th Novh. Hello, if it was couriered, then where is it?? We have not yet received itc.

All this leaves me with a question, an institute which is so disorganised for the forms, which is just the initial stage of taking admission, how is it going to be in other aspects. That is, education, placements etccc. its been a very bad experience with this institute. And such unprofessional way of functioning is not expected from a reputed institute, which would be teaching the management skills to the students. Is this what they are going to teach their students? Itfs a complete mismanagement. Such things ruin the image of the institute and is causing such inconvenience for the students. Itfs a clear indication.

I donft know how to rate this institute. May be the faculty is good, the education is excellent and if not anything else, the institute has a very good reputation, but such happenings raise a question against the institutefs credibility.
