Hi, I bought a Sidney Sheldon book recently. This was probably his first book. It is an old book written in 1971 and so it do not have any modern designs in its cover. It is mainly about a psycho analyst named Judd Stephens. Here Judd finds himself around a murder puzzle. There is a huge confusion web that goes around him. He uses his extraordinary insights into human conduct and this helps him to overpower the thinking abilities of the executioners.
It is a story with respect to homosexuality. The story shows that homosexuality is not an illness or a decision and there is nothing like curing a gay person. Hostile attitude has been shown in writing as one character is "cured" of his homosexuality. I was terrified as I am a straight person and I had never imagined that the concept of homosexuality existed in such olden days. I sometimes thought the book as rubbish and wanted to stop reading. But I had free time and hence continued reading. I was a great fan of Sheldon's books. But this book is not up to the desired level.
The Naked Face is evidence that not all writers can make good books all the time. Don't waste your money on this book. If you like the concept of homosexuality then you can read it.
