The Naked Face, an award winner debut novel by the producer of the show, I Dream of Jeannie, Sidney Sheldon.
Since I hadn't read this book as the first one (I happened to read master of the game before it) this one sounded like an anticlimax. Master of the game was one of innumerable (16 actually) books written by Sheldon, which kept me hooked to its last page.
So, coming back to my review, the naked face is the story of a brilliant psychoanalyst, Judd Stevens, (if you have read other books of Sheldon, you would be quick to notice that here, the central character is a male, unlike all the other books, where its a female) who finds himself in mortal danger, on the hands of the husband of one of his patients (ofcourse he dusnt get to know this till the end of the book) he keeps on investigating the different activities around him, when his receptionist gets murdered and so does one of his other gay patients. He even hires a detective, by the name of Moody (avid readers may link this name to the Mad Eye Moody of Harry Potter By JK Rowling) who is quite obnoxious but knows his job quite well, however he is mudered towards the end.
Now Judd has to do a pchycoanalysis of his murderer to find him, alas, he finds that one of the police inspectors on this case is also in with the muderer also, but every story has a happy ending and likewise, here too, Judd saves the lady from her husband and hence end the story.
