I would like to tell you that Mussoorie is a very unique and beautiful place. The details are as follows:-
1) Accessibility: Mussoorie is very well connected to all the major cities via Dehradun. You can reach to Dehradun via bus, train and aircraft. You can even hire a taxi to go to Mussoorie directly from all the major cities in North India. From Dehradun, you'll have to take a taxi or Uttarakhand local bus to reach Mussoorie.
2) Local Sightseeing: It's a perfect destination for all the age groups as it provides each and everything you should crave for. You can trek to GEORGE EVEREST a place situated on top of the hill surrounded by the trees. You can visit CLOUD END where you'll find the clouds beneath you. You can also visit MALL ROAD as well and the best part about MALL ROAD is that there's a valley on one side and shops on the other. You can also visit SURKANDA DEVI TEMPLE a near by place to DHANAULTI(a small place where you'll find cottages and camping sites). You must visit Chaar-Dukaan as well, as it is very famous for it's PANCAKES.
3) Hotels/Accomodation: Mussoorie has all kind of Hotels ranging from 1 Star Hotels to 5 Star Hotels. It also has small cottages as well as guest houses situated at a very calm and soothing place. You can also hire a house for a month if you have connections with the local people.
4) Climate, Food and People: Mussoorie has very pleasing and chilly weather throughout the year. You must carry a sweater or a mild jacket. If you are travelling from November to February, you must carry both sweater and a jacket with the pair of gloves and a cap as it is very chilly at this point of time. The locals are very helpful and will provide you good guidance in all the matters. The food is very delicious and tasty, and you can find all kinds of food to eat. There are lot of good cafe's situated in Mussoorie like Mudcup cafe, Cafe IVY etc. You can hire a bike as well at a vey nominal price.
5) Safety: Mussoorie is a very safe place to visit and it has Tourist Information and Help Center open 365 days a year. You can visit that with any query regarding to any problems that you may encounter.
