I worked in this organization for 1 month short of 10 years. A month short of being the "PILLAR". Motivated by our Leaders on taking risks and performing, I moved from 1 function to another. Got a boss who was never around, provided no guidance, had no vision, no plan, no idea of what she wanted to do with that function and put me on improvement plan cos I didn't deliver. How could I.? First create those WIGs with me na. then let me perform.! Anyways, I moved back to the function I came from. The WIGs were decided fast and I started work. Due to the leader's dual responsibilities, he didn't review anything that I sent him, even after several reminders. He didn't take my performance appraisal. And in the next appraisal cycle gave me 1 and in the report, he wrote that I couldn't provide him the deliverables. The fact of the matter was the the deliverables were in his inbox for past 3 months without any action taken by him and that too with very regular reminders to him. He kept saying that there are more priority work pending which he needed to finish.
Now he is asking me to leave the company(voluntary resignation). Reason: Sr. Management has asked him to. Reason: I didn't improve my performance, even after my previous appraisal cycle review.
Any my answer: No appraisal taken. HR knew, but turned a blind eye as the HRBP will also get into trouble if this is proven right. Deliverables were already delivered in June. which my boss later acknowledged, but only verbally, and said that he can't do anything now. HRBP says, such things happen and I should learn to live in this competitive environment. Accd. to HRBP, the main reason is that my Boss is on the same grade and level as me and my good performance has cornered him, either to give me a 4-5 rating which he doesn't want to give or to ask me to leave.
Where is my fault in all this? I ask the organization to whom I gave my blood, sweat, loyalty, hard work, patience and everything for 9 years 11 months.? If you value outsiders than people who have worked for you for soooooo long and with good performance. and fallen prey to office politics. then GOD SAVE YOU.! Not recommended at all to anyone who wants to learn and work hard. GANESH - PLEASE TAKE A ROUND OF YOUR OFFICE AND MEET UR EMPLOYEES AT LEAST ONCE A MONTH WITH FULL HONESTY
