Trust is a devine term. We trust only those whom we know over a period of time. It does not matter whether the persons are related to us or not.
Trust is the foundation on which relationships
are built. A husband trusts a wife, parents trust their children, a manager trusts his personnel, a leader trusts his team members, a religious leader trusts his devotees and so on. It is an assumption, and where the assumption is proved false, there are disruptions of all kinds. Mistrust destroys personal and social relationships.
Trust results out of confidence reposed upon the person trusted. So,
Trust and
Confidence are the two sides of the same coin.
Coming to MouthShut, we have to trust the system. We do not see each other in person, but we know him or her through his/her public profile. As my friend Leah says, we begin to trust someone when his/her writings and views, and his/her value systems come to the fore. I trust Nehru through what he has said and what he has written. Gandhis Autobiography is so convincing that you begin to trust him. In judiciary, the written diaries are trusted. Now a question comes to my mind. What is the difference between
Trust and
Belief ? . When I say I trust Kusum, and when I say I believe her, what is the qualitative difference in my feelings towards her ? I think,
Trust operates on a deeper plane than
Belief . I would like to have comments of my MS friends ( whom I do trust ) on this.
I am grateful to my MS friends, 112 of whom have trusted me. Thats the latest figure. It is only they, who can tell you why they have trusted me. But, God has given me a gift. That is, I can see through a person even at my first contact with him/her. There are instances when a MS Member, who has joined, say, on 28 January 2003, is put on my Trusted Circle on that day itself. Gandhi used to trust everyone, until proved wrong. Today is the Martyrs Day. Gandhi was assassinated on this day. He had no enemies, Everyone was his friend. With this note, I close. Once again I vow that I
trust you al.
