A site where you get to express your opinions. One of my friends had suggested me to register and write reviews at this site. At first I was a bit perplexed why a site carrying reviews should be named Mouthshut.com . That was why I stayed away. But once I reached here I knew I had to register.

This site has a great concept. It lets you air your views and actually pays for it. Till date I have not seen any ad on this site. I do not know how the revenues work out. Not that I care much. One of the first things that impressed me was the simple colour scheme and ease of navigation. For any website these two factors are a must. It loads quickly too. It has a dynamic database.

I got wonderful comments and lots of emails for one of my better reviews and had to face lots of flak for a bad one too. All this is evidence of a well knit community. There are a few things that can be done to make the site better. Like I really think that the distrust option is a little bit negative. I do not think on the basis of a single review you can trust or distrust a person. Also there is a tendency to trust people who agree with you and distrust those who disagree with you. I think it should be modified to like or dislike something like that. As of now I have added people whose reviews I like to my trust list.

Also whenever I search for something and it is not there in the site, there should be a link to suggest the product. Instead as of now you have to go to the home page and click on the Suggest link. The process should be made easier by adding a Suggest link on everyone’s profile page.

I still think that Mouthshut is an appropriate name since any member’s mouth here including mine is anything but shut.
