My name’s Manoj. I became one month old 2 days ago (born in Mouthshut.com on Aug 23, 2004).
It was a silent birthday. I celebrated by posting a review on the fiction book, Safe Harbour by Luanne Rice in MS.

I still cannot forget that e-incident nearly 2 months ago.
I wanted to know more about jobs in Baazee.com.
Was searching in Google by entering the keywords Baazee & jobs.
In the results, I chanced upon a mouthshut review on Baazee by MS member amrita which contained my keywords.

Okay, I clicked it upon.
I did not get exactly what I wanted but was impressed by the review nevertheless.
I tried to rate it Very Useful but couldn’t as I was not yet a MS member.
What the heck, all it takes is 3 or 4 minutes to create a basic member profile (ofcourse, you can glorify yourself in your profile by taking all the time you want :) ). Best of all, its free.

And that’s how MS member manoj101 got delivered by Mouthshut.com into the real world!

After inaugarating my ID, I thought - why not write a review also? especially on my fav subject, movies?
Out came my 1st MS review, on the Malayalam movie Nandanam.
I was too surprised when just after 5 or 10 minutes, I saw visits trickling to my review. Wow! people are seeing what I’ve written.

Got my first rating for that by MS member ponds186 and the first comment, again for Nandanam by MS member diver. Thanks pals for welcoming me.
I was flattered.

That’s the main reason for me to be hooked onto Mouthshut ever since - the wide exposure a person’s review gets.
Not to mention the added encouragement by way of the ratings & comments by other MS members.

Just think, we can literally influence the buying & selling of a product by our reviews here. We are doing that already.

Reviews on Baazee.com by MS members prompted the founder of Baazee himself, Mr. Avnish to respond back in the form of his own review in the MS platform.
That’s the MS influence!

It’s just been 1 month for me but I have grown in confidence thanks to MS, especially its members.
Each time some kind MS soul was rating my review somewhat useful, useful or very useful I felt I was becoming more useful to the world.

Because of this, I am encouraged to voice my opinions more both at home & elsewhere. Now whenever my family gets together & gossips about so & so’s behaviour I don’t remain quiet & diplomatic as before. Now I speak out, what that guy has done is absolute bullshit !

Think of the gains, if not monetary, by MS members -
writing skills improve with each passing review
those whose English language is weak gets better with more writing
love for reading increases (for those writing book reviews)
you get to meet & become friends with other MS members
there may be many MS members who have dated each other & probably, luckily ending in marriage? ;)
and ofcourse, our personality gets better due to all these

That’s the charm of Mouthshut.com - a consumer opinion, friendship, matrimonial (in some small ways) all rolled into one engaging & endearing website

I’m not much of a net geek. So I don’t know the mechanisms behind web storage.
God knows, where MS has the space for all those reviews that keep pouring from all corners of the world every hour, 24 x 7!

What’s the number, Mr. Faisal I. Farooqui (the CEO of Mouthshut.com) ?
Has the reviews touched 100,000? or is it more than that?
Can any MS member update me on that one?

And the MouthPad function (to request addition of new products or services of the MS member’s choice) is very quick (once approved).
I appreciate that

But there are some flaws, I must sadly admit (which I hope will be taken care of soon).
Member support is not quick.
The member news has not yet been updated, the last being on Aug 14.
I sent a member news (regarding my sis marriage on Sep 16) on Sep 15 via the email provided by MS support. So far, no action taken.
And ofcourse, I have not received any response for the mails sent to MS support so far.

But I’m sure MS will look into the matter.
You have helped me a lot, I can wait :)

Mr. Faisal, you have done enough for this lifetime - if your aim was to make a +ve difference in atleast one person’s life. You have made for mine.

Leave Mouthshut.com to your brilliant managers and............

get outta here, seek enlightenment !
