I became a member of mouthshut in July 2002 but it wasn’t until June 2005 that I checked out the website in detail.After I received an email from Jasmine in June 2005 regarding an Inox contest asking for minimum 10 movie reviews (plus having some spare time on my hands ) ,I decided to check out the website in detail.That has started off my passion for this website over the last year and a half so far.

Here are the top 10 reasons why mouthshut.com is an extraordinary website.:-


10)It is one of the most reliable websites for new movie reviews which have just hit the theatre.If you want to read reviews better than critics reviews,read the ones written by Sweets desire or Fenil Seta.
9)If you are looking for reliable reviews on consumer items like cars,audio systems,etc this is one of the best websites to refer to before making a decision.Infact not just consumer goods,moushut.com covers so many items/services to cover,its truely amazing and great for members of this site.
8)The website is very easy to use and non-bureaucratic.As soon as you press enter on yr review,yr review is imm posted up without any delay or censorship.No wonder mouthshut.com is extremely popular on fridays when quite a few people imm publish their reviews on hindi movies much before we read in the papers the next day!
7)mouthshut.com has exercised enough authority to see that the content and value for its members remains at a very high standard.Normally in a website where you can freely post all kinds of reviews etc,there are bound to be some anti-social elements who create trouble in several ways.By keeping such people out of the site,mouthshut.com has added glitter to itself.
6)As one can imagine ,since a website attracts traffic from all over the world,it makes this website all the more interersting as you have people from all over the world swith different views on the same subject replying to you in the comments column.
5)This is an excellent website to vent out frustration on FMCG companies who are cheats,unethical or provide pathetic service.Take for instance my review on fraudster Jaybharat Automobiles.I never thought it would attract as many eyeballs that it has.In hindi we can say "doodh ka doodh aur pani ka pani."
4)Some of the members here are outstanding people in their own right.Sweets Desire mouthshut id sweets_desire (an excellent humab being besides a wonderful writer on movies),Fenil Seta mouthshut id fenil_seta and Varun Saboo mouthshut id varunsaboo (very talented 16 yr olds),Anton mouthshut id Sourray(an amazing guy plus a terrific cricket expert) are just some of the members who come to mind.Also not to forget sndaya,patenik2,udvignaprakash,mimi_mou,prasiddha,thakurman,nishant34,tennyson,c
ousin2,etc.
3)Writing on this website undoubtedly improves yr writing skills.For instance,before I started writing reviews on mouthshut.com ,I was not sure how well I could write on issues besides my business and tennis(As you know and for those who don’t ,I used to regularly write in national papers on tennis in my college days a decade ago).Having written a 100 plus reviews since the last 18 months of different topics,I’m now confident I can write extremely well on any topic now.
2)The quality of reviews on this site is quite high.Some of the regulars write even better than critics or newspaper journalists.
1)Mouthshut.com is the only credible website in India which offers relible ,unbiased views on products and services.There are a couple of other websites which come to mind like www.planetcustomer.com and www.complaintbook.com but they have been dormant since ages.


The flipside is there is no real incentive for people to write reviews.It seems points were being rewarded in the early 2000’s but this practice has been discontinued which makes the points you earn seem meaningless.Once they restart this,one can expect a lot lot more reviews on this site.Having said this I’m sure mouthshut.com are working on this as its easy to suggest and talk but much harder to implement.

In conclusion I would like to say the mouthshut.com as a website is not as good as it seems,its much better!
